Claire McCue
Claire’s first experience onstage was as a child dancer in the King’s Theatre pantomime Cinderella, with the late Rikki Fulton. She trained in RAD ballet, tap, modern and jazz at Valda Hunter School of Dancing where she also gained a teaching qualification. Claire created the role of Iris Kelly in our original productions of Fame and was delighted to have the chance to repeat it in April 2006 - before she gets too old!! Other roles with the Apollo Players include a Cagelle in La Cage aux Folles, Angel in Anything Goes, Liesl understudy in The Sound Of Music, showgirl in Follies and the dancing Laurey in Oklahoma! She also played the role of Louise in the Orpheus Club’s production of Carousel.
As a former Scottish Claymores cheerleader, Claire danced with the Sugarbabes at World Bowl 2003, Hampden and appeared as a featured cheerleader in their TV documentary. Despite having an honours degree in Maths, Statistics and Management Science, Claire is currently a full-time music student and enjoys playing piano, trombone and composing. She would like to thank all her family and friends for their ever-continuing support and encouragement.
